Branding Irons - Hot Stamping is Not Just for Cowboys

Posted by Matt Martin

Ever wonder how to make a permanent mark in a PVC pipe?

The pipe in question is black so unless you use paint a contrast mark is out of the question, and paint would probably not hold up to the harsh conditions this pipe is headed for.

When a piece of pipe lands on a job site the customer needs to trace it back to the manufacturer and their location. They are also required to identify the certifications that it meets and that we have met the requirements.

Each piece of pipe has to meet certain regulations and certifications to be able to be made marketable. These labels or brands will show that our pipe meets all of the right certifications necessary.

Durable Technologies used a hot stamping branding iron to get the job done.  Watch the video below and see how easy it is to make a deep, permanent mark into black PVC pipe.
